Macroom Food Festival Cork & Kerry Schools Cook Off
in association with First 1000 Days
One of the main focal points of the Macroom Food Festival is a showcasing of the talent of artistic and creative post primary school students in the form of an open-air cook-off, in the town square in
Macroom. Students, in teams of two, are set the challenge to create a recipe, for a dish of their choice, using local produce.
Each team is required to submit a recipe, which they have tried and tested, that they feel best exhibits their chosen local produce. Eight finalist teams will demonstrate their skills in a cook-off on Sunday 25th September 2016. During the cook-off the finalists prepare, cook and present their Local Produce Invention Recipe.
This year, we've teamed up with First 1000 Days to help students create dishes that are suitable for the first 1000 days of life. We're delighted to have First 1000 Days judges with us on the day to help with the difficult task of choosing a winner.
Come join us on Sunday 25th at 1.00pm & 3.30pm for the finals.
